What You'll Do

  • Support the CEO with strategic contracts, M&A, and partnership agreements
  • Shape and execute our global patent and IP strategy
  • Support our Sales team with commercial contracts and agreements
  • Protect our interests through legal means including litigation
  • Advise management on legal risks, risk mitigation, and corporate strategy
  • Manage our Terms of Use and required legal disclosures related to our growing suite of globally-distributed SaaS products and services
  • Help us and our customers meet and exceed global web accessibility and privacy standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with external legal counsels to achieve desired results

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a high-profile law firm and/or in-house counsel role
  • Remarkable commercial law expertise in multiple jurisdictions
  • Evidence of exceptional strategic thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills
  • Experience in or exposure to IP law and tech firms is a definite asset

About our office and remote work

We are conveniently located in downtown Toronto with nearby access to
both of the main subway lines. Our office is spacious with roomy desks,
comfortable chairs, and top tech gear. The kitchen is packed with
essentials including healthy snacks, exotic teas and fresh ground
coffee. And we are surrounded by great restaurants and food options. The only downside is we don't have any plants (yet).

Many of us choose to work from home, either full-time or partially.
We encourage our teams to work from wherever they are most productive. We’ve come up with a few ways to keep everyone on the same page, including a quick company-wide check-in every Monday, remote coffee breaks on Fridays, and ad-hoc topical sharing sessions.
